Another Year

Holiday, Life Lessons

Birthdays usually involve cake, presents, cards, and celebrating another year of life.

However, after going through difficult seasons, a birthday has more meaning to it.

There were days I didn’t know what would happen next. There were moments when I felt uncertain, painful, or simply exhausted.

Yet here I am writing this as I am a year older: Another year of experiences, lessons, changes, disappointments, laughter, tears, and unexpected moments.

I am still here.

Surviving life is not always dramatic. Sometimes it’s just getting out of bed when exhausted. Sometimes it’s continuing the day with little energy left.

I do not know what the next year will bring. I am not meant to know. God knows and I am cool with that. I just need to keep going one day at a time (Matthew 6:25-34)

You are still here.

Maybe you’re not celebrating a birthday today. Well then celebrate your survival–no matter the size–You made it!

Take a moment to appreciate that. You are worth the celebration 🙂
