Sometimes things don’t go as planned, people expect things from us, and we find ourselves trying to manage more than expected. It’s easy to get frustrated.
But I’ve learned that talking in that frustration does not help the situation. Recently, I had a difficult day at work. As frustrated as I was, I did not lash out because I knew it would only make things worse.
When I thought about what to write today, a Bible verse came to mind. I found it in James 1:19:
So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;
In His word, we read about patience, kindness, forgiveness, and self-control. But reading about them and putting them into practice are two different things.
Learning how to respond differently than we used to is the trick. We have to work at it.We won’t always get it right. We are human after all.
