“What If?”

Life Lessons

What if I make a mistake?

What if things don’t go as planned?

What if I don’t get the job?

The “what ifs” keep us stuck in a cycle of fear, doubt, and regret-robbing our peace in the present. The truth is we can’t change the past or predict the future, but we can choose how we live right now.

Trusting God with the Unknown

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3: 5-6

We don’t have all the answers, but God does. When we surrender to Him, we will find peace—even when life doesn’t go as planned.

As a cancer survivor with disabilities, I’ve had my fair share of “what ifs”, but I have learned to place my fears in God’s hands. I’m not saying that “what ifs” will never come. What I am saying is that relying on Him more will change the perspective on the situation which will decrease the anxiety.

Shifting from “What If” to “Even If”

  • Even if I make a mistake, I will learn from it.
  • Even if things don’t go as planned, I will find another way.
  • Even if I don’t get it, I will find another one or a better one.

Let’s stop letting these questions control our thoughts.
