There are seasons when hope comes naturally. Life is steady. Doors open. Encouragement seems to find you without effort. In those moments, hope feels almost effortless.
Then there are seasons when hope feels like work. During these times, waiting for hope can leave you feeling empty. That is usually when hope quietly shifts from being an emotion to becoming a choice.
Choosing hope does not mean pretending everything is okay.
It may look like getting out of bed when your body feels heavy, saying a prayer with little hope, or taking one breath before moving forward.
Small choices still count as hope.
Choosing hope is deciding that your current circumstances will not have the final word over your life.
