Embracing The New Year

Holiday, Life Lessons

Is it just me, or did this year go by a little too fast?

Around this time I hear about the New Year Resolution along with new goals and new habits.

But I’m sure many of us don’t step into a new year feeling renewed.

And that’s okay.

We don’t have to rush into the new year pretending we’re stronger, braver, or more put together than we are. Sometimes embracing the new year simply means showing up as we are still healing, still learning, still surviving.

We’re allowed to move forward slowly. We’re allowed to rest. We’re allowed to keep parts of ourselves that helped us survive.

All we need to do is just take one step at a time.

May this year meet us gently.

May we notice the light where we didn’t expect it.

And may we keep going, surviving one day at a time.
